Essentially 2014/2015 solo air pikes can have issues whereby air leaks into lowers causing harshness. While you can burp with a zip-tie trick it's not a great long term solution. If you order a 2016 Rockshox full service kit you will notice the head seal for the air piston is now different to solve the issue.
I certainly had the issue and never found my 2014 27.5 150m solo air pike 'plush'
I recently serviced the air piston with the 2016 RS "full service kit" AND updated seals to green SKF.
I'm now only losing 3mm and it's performing consistently well. No loss of air. Interestingly, the air pressure to get the sag measurements are quite different than prior. I now get 25% sag (attack) with 65psi (no tokens) which RS recommends on stanchions. FWIW my riders weight is 158lbs (72kg)
