1. The popups come randomly, not when porn sites are open.
Looking up porn is what lets little snippets get installed on your hardrive, which can hijack your browser, homepage, and result in random popups or other strange things. I know this just because.
Two things cured the problems for me.
Ad-aware (lavasoft)
Hijack This (small simple app available here:
http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt)
^^ it is single use, wont run on startup etc and crap like that - I can sympathise with your hatred for not wanting other crap running and slowing down your comp.
Before you run anything, start windows in safe mode: clearing stuff in normal windows can result in it just re-appearing on restart.
Then, run ad-aware, and clean out everything (do it twice if you want to be sure)
Then, run hijackthis, and you can manually pick stuff out to delete. Don't delete everything obviously, but what you need to get rid of is pretty obvious. Run it twice too to make sure nothing has resurfaced. Close all IE and explorer windows before running too.
Finally, if your a nerd, go to windows/system32 (if running XP), arrange items by date modified, and if there is suss stuff created recently, delete it.
Now restart, and hopefully things will be back to normal (perhaps.)
If not, try going safe-mode and repeating the process for a second time.
It should work.
