Finally got around to adding my Ventana El Terremoto.

Just added new wheels to get a bit of fatter rubber on, and hadlebars. Never had bars so wide. Felt like a boat in the driveway. I guess it's not meant for the driveway though. Can't wait to get it out on the hill in this state.

Frame - Ventana El Terremoto 160mm
Shock - Cane Creek Double Barrrel
Fork - Rock Shox Lyrik Coil U Turn 160mm
Hubs - Hadley 10mm bolt through and 20mm Thru Axle
Rims - WTB TCS Freeride
Headset - Cane Creek 110
Sram X9 shifters and Mechs
Thomson Stem and Post
Brakes - Formula Oro Greg Minaar Limited edition 200mm front and 180mm rear
Pedals - egg beaters for up and down, Shimano DX flats for down only
Tyres - Minion 2.5's

Here is my current ride,2011 Specialized Enduro.
Nothing to ''bling'' or ''flash'' but does the job very well indeed and at $3200 new(spesh were moving em' out cheap) a bargain too.
Standard apart from . . . .
Hope 50mm AM stem.
Cromag 750mm bars.
Canfield Crampon pedals.
Reynolds carbon AM wheelset, tubeless.(the stock wheels were proving less than durable)

Probably should have said understated:doh:
Just wanted it to not stand out, especially after my last multicoloured fruit salad machine.
Well you've started poorly with this one considering the colour choices of your bars and stem! :loco:

not sure??

which side of the fence... longish stem, inbetween forks, strong xc wheels, two rings

more to pedal well?

does anyone ride these bikes really aggresively??

Nice looking bike mate..!!

Took a SB-66 (alloy) for a ride a few weeks ago. Such a capable bike, geometry was inspiring, super stiff. I had no qualms about getting it very, very swapped out.

Anyone riding a Stumpy Evo at the moment?

Bought this Nomad frame from a member on here for $400 in December. Rides amazingly well, such a versatile bike too. Brilliant in the air, slays corners, and it's a pretty great climber.

Frame: Santa Cruz Nomad 2008, large. 2011 Rockshox Monarch shock, also has a later model link.
Fork: Rockshox Lyric Coil U-turn
Headset: Chris King
Brakes: XTR w/alligator rotors 185mm front, 160mm rear
Cranks: XTR
Rear Deraileur: XTR
Shifter: XTR
Cassette: XTR 9 speed, 11-34t
Wheelset: DT Swiss 240 Hub on Mavic ex819 rear, Hope ProII on Mavic ex721 front
Pedals: MG1's
Seatpost: Syncros, wanting a dropper in the near future...
Saddle: Fizik Gobi
Stem: Thomson X4 70mm
Bars: Answer Carbon AM bars, 720mm, 1 inch rise
Grips: ODI YETI lock-on
Tires: Minion 2.35 DHF front, Nobby Nic rear (pretty unhappy with the Nobby Nics, turned my last rear one into mince meat after a couple of times at Gap Creek and one time at Mt.Joyce)

Running 1x9 with an E13 top guide thingo, 32t front. Also running an Avid 'Roller Majig' I picked up from FTR for $2.50 - works a treat!

Just deciding on my new bike! Think I am going to go for an evo anyway, but just curious to know peoples opinions.

Have you ridden a standard Stumpy to compare it against? Sacrifice climbing ability much in your opinion?

I think the evo is the go rex. I mean we dont really try and hammer the up hills so if the extra 10mm makes you ride them abit slower then who cares, as long as it does sweet skids

I have ridden both, they climb very well for what they are, although mine has 36's on it and 50 mm stem which gives it a very slack feel, so as a climber it is still ok, but when it was standard it was pretty awesome as a climber, its in the down where it shines and through corners, its a beast when it comes to that, mine is posted somewhere back, i will find it!

That looks tidy.

Since finding out the weights on the Evo's, I am pretty sold. Definitely suits our riding style Tony!

X9 shifters though, you are the bane of my existence.
