Yeah the special goose is a bit special. .. lol. Distinctive bike that one and a great light trail xc style bike for what it is. I do actually enjoy riding it. It just cannot shred as hard as the jekyll.

I use the goose as my fitness every day bike and the jekyll as my weekend warrior. .. or when I'm riding with people who will push my ability.

Where did you get the whyte from? I wanted to try one but no one seems to sell them around here. Climb well? Corner well?

Seems to be Whyte season. Both these came from Bike Culture Sydney. they mananged to snap up some 2012 models at a great price.

Have only done about 5km on mine but loving the fit, coming off an SB-66

What made you choose to move from an SB-66? Most people can't stop taking about theirs....

Part of it was simple new bikeitis. I have had the SB for nearly 2 years so thought it would be good to move it on while it retained some resale value at least. I am also thinking about 650b in the near future, The whyte has new dropouts coming out soon for 650.

The bigger thing was that I had never felt completely comfortable on the SB. For my local trails (Daisy Hill) it is too much bike and on bigger hills it was never quite there. Much of this is probably due to the rider, but I felt like I was always chasing setup issues to turn it into the bike I wanted.

I have no idea if the Whyte is going to solve this for me as I have not tested it, but initial rolling around feels much better due to a shorter TT and steeper ST angle. I would be curious to try a small SB and see if that works for me.

2011 Commencal meta 55

Picked up my new (to me) steed yesterday. Only been on a couple of shortish rides, but loving it so far. Lighter than i expected, climbs pretty well and descends like a boss!

chopsticks smellsssss

Recently bough a Sb66 - replaced my Trek fuel ex8.
After a couple rides (OMV & Manly Dam) Im happy with my choice. still mucking around with the settings... just plows through the rocky drops.. Although my easton haven rims dont :S already dented the rear! oh well. I'll pick up some hope pro evo's in WTB I23s later... Keep the havens for racing.
Shes already riding shotgun! Till i can get a decent fork mount for my ute!
