Well, I'm not in a hurry to replace my hubs (got another toy to build up tomorrow ;)), so I'll just put that idea on the back burner.
If you've got DT hubs you should be able to get new ends caps to convert them?

Hmm, on this wheelset they are Bontrager branded hubs with DT guts, so possibly, but I don't hold out hope.

EDIT: after some webby research, it might just work ... hmmm ...

NICE!
I hate you for having a parts bin that had those parts in it though :p

Those wheels FTL though, paired spokes in wheels like that are garbage though. They might work fine, but they would weight the same and be stronger if they were evenly spaced + weirdo spokes if one does ever break....

...and you have something to back this up yeah? IMHO, those wheels rock! they're super stiff! and I've broken a spoke without the wheels going wobbly, and even rode on them like that for most of an 8hour (probably 6 1/2 hours of racing)

I'm not sure paired vs spaced spokes matters much to be honest. Most of the stiffness is in the rim and any weekness would be more due to the fact it only has 24 spokes than any spacing.

the whole "wierdo spoke when they break" is a furphy as well... yes they are different spokes, but I have a stash of spokes in the top of my tool box for both my fad wheels. I've broken one spoke on the XTR's and that was an already damaged one that got whacked again under load. Was quick to change ... no problems ;)

They're a Fad wheel set, a race only wheelset, and they're very clearly a generation behind on current wheel sets but they're anecdotealy as stiff and strong as any other wheel I've owned, if not stiffer!

*shrug*

His 'parts bin' is better then my current bike!
All that was actually in my parts bin was the cranks, drivetrain and forks. I really just say that to try to convince myself I didn't spend a heap of $$$

BTW re the wheels etc- this bike is purely for fun. I always wanted to build up a light bike (I ride a Reign) and I've always wanted a carbon NRS and those XTR wheels so here it is. Logic was not a big factor...

The single tracks are off my last bike, which was more of an All-mountain rig. Just waiting for my new wheels to arrive.
In the meantime, I've put some Spinergy's on for tomorrows 6hr race at Officer.
