Looks like the Brisbane City Council West Natural Area Team will be conducting a fuel/hazard reduction burn in the Western part of Mt Coot-tha Forest (Gap Creek) tomorrow.
They will be lighting up around 9:30am and finishing up around 4:30pm. The area being burnt is west of the Gold Creek Trail, bounded by South Boundary rd on the North. Please stay away from South Boundary Road, The Tunnel Trail, "Bronwyns" and "Vietnam" during the burn activities.
The tracks in the area will remain closed for 2 weeks following the burn to allow for any standing dead trees that may have been weakend by the fire to fall down. This applies to the Western part of "Vietnam" and the Gold Creek trail. Area closed signs will be placed in appropriate areas. Falling trees are actually unlikely but hey if you are on the wrong end of a falling tree you were warned.

Guess it isn't a national parks hazard burn. They only do them on the weekend so they get the overtime!
