PS4 Video "Apps" Not Working??? Any experts?

I just got a PS4, its been good so far but I cant get the "apps" to work - like netflix, iview etc. When you select them it just comes up with a blue loading screen with some animation and the "press O to cancel" in the bottom left. Stays like this indefinitely, but its not frozen because you can cancel it without any issues and continue using the rest of the system as usual.

My internet connection is fine (although slow), and I'm logged into the PSN - anyone got any ideas or had similar issues?

Edit: Should mention its the same with other apps like Spotify etc..

Have you gone into the Playstation Store and downloaded the app itself? They do tend to show on your media menu but aren't active until you go to the store and download the app.

Ohh for fecks sake.. Thats probably it to be honest. What a weird setup!

Just remember you'll also need accounts for each app to run them too so be ready to sign up.

You can also DL 'ps3 media server' on your computer and stream whatever you have on it to the ps4, works a treat...

Sign up for a private dns server like getflix so you can get access to US apps like hulu, US netflix, HBO, amazon instant and redbull tv which is strangely not available on the aus PlayStation store.

Have you turned off the parental safe mode? It is on by default with the PS4 to prevent youngsters accidentally watching bad stuff. Your goat porn is probably classed as prohibited.

we dont have an antenna installed at our house and were only watching iview and 7+ on PS4 until recently.
I cant get either of them to work, luckily netflix and youtube are still ok

same thing happens if I try to watch through the TV apps directly

im with dodo though and have had problems in the past with my DNS
