After reading an online news snippett about Rammsteins new video clip called Pussy i went looking and found it on one of the common porn sites, wont tell you which one because I had to find it to view it and you lot can do the same.

Well anyway comments were that said clip was in the out there department, but alas is very tame except for raunchy bits at the end showing the bands prowess with various women.

I saw it about a week or so ago. Fucking terrible, cheesy music and it's basically just rammstein jumping the shark to sell a few more records before they fade into obscurity.

haha I saw the thread title and thought "someone's going to get banned for this". I think what most of you fail to realise is that the song and the clip is taking a stab at european pop music, that is 100% focused on using sex as a selling point

You do realise pretty well EVERY Rammstein song is about the same stuff? Even "rammstein" means "ram in". Spiel Mit Mir = Play With Me, for example, Buck Dich = something like Bend Over, etc etc. You can hardly accuse them of sensationalism when they're most famous for being rediculously sexually explicit and setting fire to everything around them including themselves when on stage - the whole band IS sensationalism, and that's why they're simultaneously terrible and fucking awesome.

BTW, the Pussy video is NOT safe for work (or kids), nor is it "relatively tame".

Rammstein takes their name indirectly from the West German town of Ramstein-Miesenbach, the site of the flight show disaster on 28 August 1988. The band's signature song, "Rammstein", is a commemoration of the Ramstein airshow disaster. The second "m" in the band's name makes it translate literally as "ramming stone" to convey the Teutonic sound of their music. In a short period before the band became well known, they performed using the name "Rammstein-Flugschau" (literally meaning "Rammstein-Airshow").

The song Rammstein is indeed about the Ramstein air base crash, and the name apparently was originally inspired from that too, but obviously the notion of a double entendre is as foreign to you as German itself. In fact, "ramm stein" is also a command to literally "ram stone" - triple entendre. Not that Rammstein do double entendres or anything, it's not like "Du Hast" ("you have") is deliberately made to sound like "du hasst" ("you hate").

"Bend over" is the accurate yet less literal translation of "Bueck Dich", and if you're really trying to be anal, "Buecken" means "to stoop". But you wouldn't recognise that as a command because... you don't speak the language.

Now kindly shut up before I ban you, you're easily the most annoying person on the site. You don't know shit yet you consistently talk it.

Crunch. I was hoping to find something to nitpick just because I love to be a Klugscheißer, but S. is pretty much right.

Interesting but irrelevant side note: du hast/hasst was the first German song I ever realised I could understand the lyrics to. That, and that horrible track by die Aertztin "Lass die Leute reden", which refuses to fuck off out of my head whenever I ride to work. Escaping the UK next week to go to Oktoberfest with Bavarian girlfriend next week though, so hopefully I can kiss off the brain cells responsible :)

Having watched the offending clip I must convey my absolute horror at being slap-bang on the vinegar strokes before being confronted with the sight of a middle-aged German bloke decked in leather bellowing into a microphone like he was an edgy Bono.

After I cleaned myself up I did have to hand it to Rammstein on their marvelous OTT piss-taking and wondered if i shouldn't merge this with the other kraut humour thread!

But after a bit of introspection I remembered that 2 World Wars and Angela Merkal's distracting massive boobs have blinded me from far better smutty, pornographic and controversial music videos
