142x12mm end caps

What do you mean by this?

Really sorry. I'm new to mtb

No worries - The rear wheel is either 135 QR (your standard quick release), or 142x12mm thru-axle. You can change between either of the options by changing out the endcaps, which slot over the end of the axle on either side. Basically, you can run the rear wheel as either option by swapping between them. The front wheel is 100x15mm thru-axle. :)

OK
Well my rear wheel is qr as you explained. Cheers

I'll check my front wheel tomorrow arvo.

I'm keen.
Is there any lateral bearing play in either?

Nope, not that I had ever noticed. Will double check this afternoon though just to make sure.
