Is there a set time for the lift instruction on the Friday morning, my son hasn't been to thredbo before and I would hate to miss a whole days practice for him if we ran a little late

I'm pretty sure they run inductions at 9am, 11am and 2:30pm.
I don't know if that is going to change for race weekend though

Also take into consideration the amount of forecast rain (they tend to over-estimate) and the likelihood of rain. Based on that we expect showers on Thursday and Friday, the weekend should be fine.
But a week out the forecast isn't too accurate.

Bring warm clothes! There will be a chill in the air.

The best coffee and food in Thredbo !

Too all the racers coming to Thredbo this weekend make the effort to walk over the bridge and up the stairs to the new cafe in the centre of town called "CENTRAL ROAD" .It has the best coffee and amazing food !

This will be the biggest gravity weekend we ever held in Thredbo! Hoping to crack the 300 rider mark. We're getting close.

Good news is that it won't be dusty and the fire danger is low too
Bring wet weather gear. The tracks will hold up nicely. Forecast now is rain today and tomorrow, showers sat, possible shower sun.

We had a blast riding the trails yesterday.

Muddy practice day today. More rain tonight but the forecast for tomorrow and Sunday doesn't look too bad. Big field again! 187 riders in the Rollercoaster tomorrow and 169 for the RedAss Downhill. With a fair few doing the double header.

As Round 1 is part of the XUP Festival http://xupfestival.com.au we got some special pricing for you:

- all registered downhill competitors get free spectator entry to the xup zone
- spectator tickets are $10 for those who wish to watch the action and stay for the party
- to ride in the xup zone is $30 for those who have registered for the downhill comp, otherwise its $40 for a general rider ticket

Generally yes but they need to be on a leash the entire time. For their own safety really. Bikes and dogs don't mix well.

We need your help: free entry to the DH if you can tow a trailer from either Lithgow, Tuggerah or Steve's place to the event. We already have the HMBA trailers so we need 2 more.

Camping for competitors is allowed and free. There are toilets but no showers.

Ride day over the weekend was tip-top! It's an interesting track and will be a challenge to put together a tidy fast run. Looking forward to race day next week.
