removing old style cranks and help dating a frame

Hi,

I'm trying my hand at restoring an old bike I bought of ebay. I was wondering if anybody knows how to remove the cranks shown in the pics below:





Any help would be much appreciated!

Have you tired removing the nut and pulling out that round thing on the opposite side? Looks like a go to me..

Undo the nut on the cotter pin, gently tap the pin out and tap the crank off. Repeat on the other side.
Aha thankyou, I tried tapping it before but wasn't brave enough to hit it harder.

I was also wondering if someone might know approximately when the frame was made (pics below). The guy I bought it from reckoned circa 50s. I've been looking at some pics of old cecil walkers but they're all pretty different. Again, any help would be much appreciated.







edit: dunno if it makes a difference, but it had a 3 speed internally geared hub on it (which weighed a ton haha)
