Searching around for a replacement for the old XT M772, non DynaSis rear mech https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/shimano-xt-m772-shadow-9-speed-rear-mech/rp-prod20700

Most of the shops want to sell me a Shadow+ mech, but that wont work with the road shifters on the Frankenbike.

Anyone know what sort of cable ratio the other stuff like Microshift run: https://www.cyclingdeal.com.au/buy/microshift-mountain-bike-rear-derailleur-for-shima/RD-M64L https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/microSH...Cage-Rear-Derailleur-for-Shimano/172913591752 ?

Or of anything else compatible that is still available?

Any Shimano 8/9-sp. derailleur will work. Shimano still keep supply of some older-generation parts, so you may still be able to find a new M772 or M592 Deore.

If @The Duckmeister hasn’t said so, unlikely...

...unless you want 9sp clutched using sram 9sp shifter paired with 10sp shadow + derailleur? Works with a very minor tweak.
Nah, like the Shimano shifters, rather than the SRAM gear. This is actually converting my wife's bike back to a frankenbike after it has been flat bars for the past couple of years because of kids front bike seat.

Ill give the Alvio one a go then, cant be terrible.

Only real difference is in the materials; where the XT is all aluminium, the Alivio has some steel bits in the body links.

Nice, it certainly looks more up to date than the base level gear when I was last paying attention to that tier. Back then Acera/Alvio was heavy full steel basic stuff. (Ok that was when i was a uni student almost 20 years ago).
