From the MTBA website:

http://www.mtba.asn.au/NEWS/?IntCatId=20#29372

"MTBA and the Gold Coast Mountain Bike Club regretfully advise that the first round of the 2010-2011 National MTB Series is canceled.

Due to significant rainfall over the last few days coupled with some massive falls in the last few weeks the site is water-logged and is unlikely to dry out enough to provide a venue and race courses that are up to our high standard of safety. Our ability to quickly and responsibly evacuate injured riders from some parts of the XC and DH courses will be severely affected. Finally the 4X track was suffered not only from surface water damaging the track surface but also from the high water-table that now is evident on the hill side.

Further rain is predicted in the next week which furthermore makes it almost impossible for repair work to be carried out.

Those athletes that have entered the Illinbah rounds will be refunded in full early this week.

MTBA is currently working through alternative options in the aftermath of the loss of the Illinbah round and will advice on this will be posted on the MTBA website as soon as clarity is achieved.

Further information can be obtained by contacting MTBA (Tony Scott 0416 228 016, tony.scott@mtba.asn.au)"

Edit: it's on the Rotorburn homepage, but I have the forums bookmarked, so this'll benefit people like me...

Scooter, you could just go up there anyway - It's always been tough getting flights/accomodation at that round due to Schoolies being on at the same time.
