Saint cranks: bashgaurd compatibility

Just got my new M810-1 Saint cranks today and was annoyed to find out that my gammut bashgaurd will not fit on. It seem that the thinknes of the saints (in comparison to the OCTs I had before) means that the bashgaurd cannot sit in close enough to the bolt holes to fit correctly.

Have I just not had a good enough fiddle with this or has someone else found this with their cranks?

I am currently running a e13 bashgaurd which has a recess for the crank arm in it with my gammut chain device. Havent tested this as of yet though.

I got one to fit without any issues. In the bashguard there are 4 dicky little plastic lips perpendicular to the outer edge of the bashguard and its one of these lips that is binding on your crank arm. Just take some of the end of that lip off and it should be sweet.

Hope this makes sense. I love Shimano....
