Selling everything - how much is it worth??

Hi All,

A mates friend suggested I visit this site to ascertain what I might get for all my Mountain Bike gear.

I would prefer not to sell separately.

Unfortunately I just don't have the time these days and as a result the bike never saw any dirt or mud - as you can see by the photos I went a little crazy buying stuff!! All of it including the bike itself is as new with quite a few items never used at all - pathetic really!!

Anyways here is the link to my album on photo bucket;

It would be perfect for someone starting out and does not want to buy anything else for years!!

Cheers and thanks in advance.

This smells....? all that kit and you didn't think "Hmmm, Maybe Disc Brakes would be nice...Ah heck, I'll purchase thousands of dollars worth of expensive tools/parts & accessories, and decide whether i like mountain biking first?"
More dollars than sense....
p.s you need trading access to sell things on Rotorburn, Your in the wrong section as well.:)
Smells of what??

Nearly did get discs pal - yes more dollars then sense, acknowledged.

Did like riding no time + right now I need to raise some dollars.

Not trying to sell with this post - asked for what it's worth

What section should this be in then and thanks for your comments as they were most helpful in answering my question - cheers mate.

I don't get it.
Why two hand pumps, a shock pump AND a floor pump, two spare chains, spare XT cassette AND chainrings and XTR bits (just in case?), Plus all those pro tools for a bike you never rode? Really?

just a question

With all that gear you must have atleast one tax invoice for one of those items....care to present one?...I'm keen but want to see some invoices.

Cheers Binner

An interesting collection , how much did you pay for it all, do you still have the reciepts?
What size is the bike?

Yes really!! Could of been worse mate - I could have gone ape shit with drugs and then have nothing to show for my dollars hey! Oh yeah the front chainrings and rear cluster are brand new also - you must have missed that.

90% of the accessories were purchased from JensonUSA when the AUD was 98c to the greenback with the remaining items purchased from eBay so I can provide receipts for everything and BTW I resent the implication that this is dodgy.

I may be guilty of stupidity and compulsiveness but I'm not a thief.

Medium Frame - I'd have to go back through all the online figures to give you a total price.

Yes, can provide proof of purchase etc.

bahahah.. whats that saying?!?

Oh yeah thats right... this is like the epitome of someone with "All the gear and no idea".

I feel for you, judging by your set up you must be a real fat cat with all your corp dog friends splurging on thousands of dollars worth of cycling gear before even trying it out... actually, maybe Im just jealous

If you're after the big bucks, I'd put out an IPO on the ASX start up a small unltd coy with the amount of inventory you have there and gradually sell of your stock through a short put contract. That way you can pocket the dosh and start all over again by doing it the "correct" way and starting with a cheapie 2nd hand Giant to determine if you like the sport before making that 1st big "Specialised" purchase... oh  woopsieess

Not just you. If you're seriously after a figure then if it's all in immaculate condition, then worth 50% of the RRP. If it's in decent condish, 30%.

If you want the best $, it would be insanity to sell this as a lot. The chances of anyone, anywhere, needing all your kit in one lot is next to nothing.

Smells of something sketch ... dude, Your first post ever on this forum is basically an excuse to try and hock all of your wares without doing any legwork, because your no longer interested in mountainbiking.
It just seems dodgy to me. Is that all you have to offer this online community? convincing one of us here that we should by your odd collection of quality stuff that you were crazy enough to go overboard with.
If you bought the stuff then you should already know what its worth. I'm sure i aint the only one who thought it seemed a bit ????
Fair enough - fair comment - I'll wait until the guy who recommended this site to do this responds with a post.

Jesus H Christ all I wanted was a ballpark figure before I sell this stuff - not to be judged and bombarded with smart ass comments.

Funny enough no-one has actually attempted to assist me - go figure. I mean you guys are into bikes so thought somebody here would be interested - is that not helping this online community?
