Shipping a bike to the USA

Hi All, I’m moving to the US east coast in 6 weeks and am looking in to shipping my bike rather than lugging it through airports with all of our luggage.
Has anyone shipped a complete bike to the US before and if so, who did you use and what were the costs? I’ve been looking online and costs vary hugely.

I know I can take it as excess baggage but 2 kids, 6 suitcases, baby seats and a pram will be painful enough.

I’d be shipping from Sydney if I did go down this route.

It will be lots. You would be better off selling it and buying a new one there. Something like a Guerilla Gravity.

Cheers. Have looked in to selling it here as Oddjob suggested above and buying over there. The exchange rate is just so brutal.

Best thing to do is bite the bullet and take it on the flight with you. Added baggage is a lot cheaper than shipping from AUS - USA.
