Hey there,
Just wondering what sort of lube people use on their skewer threads on their fork mounted bike racks? I've been finding that regular bike lube products don't last very long - given a car is exposed to the weather more than a bike (in my case anyway).
Now that winter approaches - the first winter since I've had the racks on my roof - I'm finding it more difficult to keep the skewers nice 'n lubed to make it easier to screw/unscrew them. Especially difficult when the car is frosted over and the fingers go numb after 2 turns. Maybe it's just the brand of lube I use (White Lightning Epic)? Or maybe I should use grease? Vaseline?
If anyone has any tips or particular lubes they can recommend that'd be great.
Thanks,
np.
