Extra Info: This is a pair of Shimano AM45 shoes that I am selling due to a lack of use. The shoes are in 100% functional condition, and save for a few scuffs and a bit of dirt, they're in excellent aesthetic condition too. They're a size 44 EU, which Shimano list as a 9.7 US.
The Shimano SH-AM45 is an All Mountain SPD shoe. It's designed to be tough enough for World Cup DH racing, with built-in protection to keep your feet safe and secure in the event of a crash. The rubber outsole uses a textured pattern to provide grip on the top of platform SPD pedals such as the Crank Brothers Mallet DH or the Shimano DX pedal.
The tough synthetic upper employs a lace-up design, with a large Velcro flap that covers the laces to give the AM45 shoes a clean appearance and excellent weather protection. They shield off water and mud well, making them an ideal all-weather mountain biking shoe. I've used them for mostly XC and trail riding, where their comfortable fit and added protection have been welcome over lightweight racing shoes. The mid-top design is particularly noticeable, as it provides more coverage and protection of your inside ankle bone.
