In 2 years time when my long service comes up, I am thinking of travelling around the USA. Ideas are sketchy at this stage but include Colorado, and Texas (ex pat lives there). This would be a month long or more.
Are you looking for a short holiday option?

Think I found my 45th bday present for next year...has anyone been here or the other place in Slovenia
The tails look good and something different than Whistler, the dollar looks good and it seems pretty cheap to live daily.....the tours look pretty well organised too.....

For the culture + something different Morocco esp for XC +freeride/AM.
eg Freeridemorocco = Organized by English I think + Moroc Nature by Moroccans several of us are going to do this.
Otherwise in Spain Ciclo Motana or Basque Mtb we will prolly do one of these too.
As far as DH goes there is some gnarly lifted stuff in France ,Switzerland ,Italy.
Of course if you want super cheap without guides , most accessible xc West North America eg Utah /Moab Fruita Arizona Sedona is hard to beat .

Looks like Switchbacks is dedicated to DH. Spain, dry mountains, late night eats and parties, with uplift every day is pretty cool. However, I'd like to ride in Slovenia. Mum is Slovenian and I haven't been there since I was 11. Looks like you work more for the ride in Slovenia and don't need a DH bike. It's alpine to sub-alpine so it will not be dry. They both look like winners. Pick your pick.

Sorry to have hijacked the DH thread but was going to start one about travelling anyway.
