Frame: 2nd Hand Riot, Suburban, Majesty, etc. Personal preference. I ride a 24 Moon. It's heavy as shit (2.9kg frame), but I'm in love with it.
Forks: Argyle 302 (Lighter than 318 + simpler, meaning less parts to break)
Headset: King from Ebay
Stem: NS
Handlebar: NS Proof, Funn Fatboy, Sunline, Deity. 710mm is a good width, for me at least. 2 or 3" rise if you have 80mm of travel or less, less rise if you have +80mm.
Grips: Animal Edwins
Brake: Avid BB5/7 if you want disc, XT V brake to Odyssey Monolever if you can run Vs.
Crankset: I run WTP Royals. Cheap and they haven't broken yet. I've got nfi about the weight, but I don't care. Flys or Eclats if you want light.
Chain: Kmc 710
Pedals: Odyssey PC
Saddle: It's a seat. Pick something you think looks good.
Hubs: NS Coaster Pro SS, Coaster SS if you're running out of money, on the rear, whatever NS's brakeless 20mm front hub is on the front.
Rims: Rhyno Lite front, 721/9/MTX/Atomlab rear.
Tires: Tioga fs-100. Tabletops if you want lightweight.

Nice spec, but you're not going to get that for his budget of $1800 - a new Mob frame is around $1k and Fox 831s (when they're released) will be close to $1300.

Frame: 2nd hand Blk Mrkt.
Forks: Argyle 318's.
Headset: Anything sealed.
Stem: Blk Mrkt Underboss.
Handlebar: Blk Mrkt Bada Boom.
Grips: ODI Longneck's.
Brake: Why spend on hydro? Avid BB7. Linear slic cable. Odsy Monolever.
Bottom Bracket: Sealed euro 22mm.
Crankset: Eclat Tibia.
Chain: KMC 510.
Pedals: Eclat PC's.
Seat post: ABD 27.2mm pivotal.
Saddle: TSC slim.
Hubs: Get a good rear, anything sealed that spins on the front.
Rims: Mavic 721.
Tires: Holy Rollers or whatever tickles your fancy.

If you are on a budget, look secondhand to get a good deal on your frame.
Don't spend heaps of money on a brake, get an Avid cable.
Plastic pedals are really cheap.
A front hub just spins round, and does not need to be anythinig special.

Spend up big on important parts, like your cranks and rear hub.

I like the fact that page 1 of this thread is full of people recommending a Blk Mrkt frame with a King headset...they have an internal headset and also a King blows nearly a third of this dudes budget.

Any of those frames second hand will do. And I'd try and source most of the other expensive parts i.e. forks, wheels, brakes and cranks second hand. Then look into cheaper alternatives for everything that remains. Plastic pedals, Bilt bars/stem, Imperial grips.

With your budget mate you'd be lucky to build a bike without at least half the parts being second hand.

Good luck with the build because it's fun and rewarding building a DJ/Street bike from scratch :)
