STI to MTB-shifters and brakes conversion.

Hi All,

I want to change form STI and dropped bars to MTB bars, what shifter/brake combo would work best? with Campy triple Veloce gears
nine speed, and vee brake with boosters already fitted on the bike.

And does anybody have experience with shift problems doing this ie synchronization of shifters to derailleurs, smoothness and brake power gain or loss etc DavidS

you will have trouble getting campag to work with shimano gear. they use a competely different shift ratio. if you have to do this thing. it might be worth buying a cheap hybrid or moutain bike and just swapping the whole drive train.

The spacing between shimano and campag are different, so it's not going to happen easily :?
What you can get, if memory serves me correctly, is cassettes that fit onto campag spline, and have shimano spacing. I'll speak to my brother (campag using roadie) and see what he says, but it should be doable.
You have V's on your bike? Craziness! It's a bit overkill, but hey, nothing wrong with that.
And flat bar roadies rock, I'll post pics of mine soon, heaps of fun to ride.
