Still no recognition for James Williamson, Willo Link trail

Just been surfing the ACT Mt Stromolo MTB Park official website, and downloaded pdf maps in preparation for the World 24hr Solos. Noticed that after nearly 3 years since the Willo Link trail being opened the 2 pdfs maps linked on the website have no recognition of its existence.

Come ACT get your act together. No wonder I left soon after the "Local Government we had to have" was formed. We all know things move slowly in bureaucrat 'self importance justify my wage and ego land' with multi level discussions, meetings, focus groups, draft reviews and so on before any amendments and updates are made to anything. How complex can it be to add Willo Link to an existing approved map?

At least 3 years. Really........

Firstly this is the biggest toys out of the cot rant ever.

The trail is there along with a small memorial. What else do you want a sign on the moon pointing to it.

How about instead of having a sook about the act government which let's be honest built stromlo for us to all enjoy you contact making tracks and let's them know the maps need an update

It may be over the top as you say, but that is what forums are for. Voicing opinions and sometimes frustrations, whether agreed with by all or not. In this case if it gets action quicker than normal Govt process then great. If it helps ensure normal Govt process does not let the MTB community down again, then even better.

But what if person X who was notated as a war hero at the AW Memorial and the official monument was not shown on official map/s? It wouldn't have happened. This would have been added to any map/s at the time. Not left 3+ years for someone to stumble across.

To us the XC MTB community Willo is one of our heros. Notation of the memorial trail should be noted on whatever map or electronic material that is appropriate for all to see and ride if they so choose.

Capone dude, you need to read the post.

It says the "2 pdfs maps linked on the website have no recognition of its existence". Nothing there about the trail not being marked by signs or the monument at the Park itself.
your 14th post is excessive, pedantic and over the top. The trail is signed and Willow is honored and remembered in many ways - send a gentle reminder and then return to earth.

The difference between Willo and a war hero is that they sat in a trench, ate crap food, watched their mates get killed and if they themselves were lucky returned home mentally and physically fit.

Willo was a good rider and has got the recognition he deserved.

Come back down to earth send a nice email to Makin Trax and let it go.

Also maybe thank the ACT Council as you called it, god knows how much money they pump into mountain biking in the ACT.

It would be nice to see the addition of the trail on the maps but those who need to remember young Jimmy have him on their minds when the time is needed.
"Those who need to know, know."

Man I miss that kid.
