How are we supposed to help ..?

Give it a month, I always go through the faze of "I want to get a new XC bike!", but then after a few weeks, I've made my mind up I really don't want or would get enough use out of a Carbon XC, pretty much a spur of the moment thing ... But this could just be me also.

But really, how are we supposed to make up your mind?

well it depends on:
1) i would choose the one im best at.
2)the one im more passionate about.
3)the one i could afford when it brakes or just updating.

- i personaly would go with a downhill bike,
cheers and goodluck

If you got a street/park bike you would still be able to do dirt jumps and downhill. Also a street/park bike would be a great deal cheaper.
I couldn't imagine riding at the bowl very well with a downhill bike as well:)

what?

you can afford both - so why not buy both?

you can't decide which one to ride - well when you feel like riding downhill, ride the downhill bike. if you feel like dirt jumping - ride the dirt jump/park bike

you confuse me.

why dont you get either a hardtail or short travel dual suspension bike with forks like Rockshox Pike or something so you can put the travel shorter for street/dj and you can adjust it bigger for dh.

OMG, as said in a million threads before its your own personal prefernce. We can't help you in anyway, we can just point you in the right direction for bikes etc.
