Hi,

Many years I remember going to the bike (bicycle not motorbike) show at Randwick Race course and had such a good time, when ever I went (nearly 12 years ago)

Upon searching the net I haven't found any info on when/where there will be one in Sydney

I did however see that has been in Melbourne, but not sure if they have one in 2011

Can someone please tell me why Sydney doesn't get a bike show??

Most companies have their own private shows now, the last good was 04/05 then it collapsed, the new show I believe is under different organizers and has been twice, it was quiet good this year, I was impressed with who did show up ( no big companies really, no Giant/ no DW due to product release dates, although crowd who does 661 had a great booth! tops to that guys! as did the hope crowd and Marin. etc) but I think it will grow, Brisbane was due to have a round of it but didn't happen and all going well I shall make an attendance fingers crossed with a small booth at the 2011 one.

There was both public and trade days, a test pump track and some exhibitions/events/public talks.

Re: no sydney, I think it's just more the cost of having various shows for the exhibitors/ organizers/having to travel so far with so much gear etc and timing it correctly.

last show I did in Sydney was the first one at olympic park and it sucked as a wholesaler, not many people came, was BIG $$$ for the amount of exposure you got, really put me off the whole thing!

Was great as Joe Public. Oodles of bike porn and no crowds :)

Although I would have put up with the sweaty masses if it meant that it was actually viable long term.

Yeah I bet :). Unfortunealty it cost about 10g for the stand and to set it all up (and that was only 6x3m!) plus I had a international supplier come 9at their expense thank f#@k!) to see about 5000 people come through over 3 days!

Looks like you will have to fork out and go to Interbike in September. We are applying for a press pass this year, but that doesn't happen until May.
