Yep I would agree that they feel more stable and supportive. I guess with that though I tend to not be able to feel the position of my feet as well.

It takes a while but they do soften up a bit, every one has different needs when it comes to shoes I suppose. I usually feel my feet aren't parallel on the pedals and readjust when it's safe.
