The QUICK question thread.....

Not that I'm KOM'ing or youtubing but what's the latest mount setup for GoPro's for people? Chest mounts still the okay thing?
Brian still uses a chest mount, but he runs an extra belt to keep it smooth. He's pretty fussy with his setup.
Chin mount for a full face will give you a more stable video as you head is a natural gimbal, but you have to wear a full face all the time and you won't get as much of your bike in the shot.

Magura Storm HC rotors (203mm diamter, 2mm thick) are 15 Euros each from ze Germans - I'm looking to get a set so my existing Centerline rotors can fit on my son's bike, and his rotors (180mm) can go on my daughter's.

I have two reasons for doing this -

  1. She needs to replace her back rotor because it's rusting and squeals due to contamination..
  2. My rotors warp and skim after hard cornering. Not sure if an extra 0.2mm will solve the issue but at the very least, they look nice :D

And now for my quick questions!

  1. Do I need to re-bleed brakes if I'm moving up to a 2mm thick rotor?
  2. Also, will any post mount brake adapter fit SRAM brakes (Shimano, Magura etc)?

My rotors warp and skim after hard cornering.
What the fucking what now? Your rotors shouldn’t be subject to any cornering loads. Are you meaning to say your rotors warp after heavy/sustained braking? Otherwise things don’t even begin to make sense unless your brake mounts are slightly loose and maybe, maybe your frame flexes and the rear brake resettles wherever it likes.

Maybe it's just me but I notice skimming sounds after I turn hard into corners. Maybe my ears unblock at that moment :D

Lol no it's definitely there. But maybe it was always there and I didn't notice it because reasons?

Perhaps you mean flex rather than warp? Maybe it is the fork or frame flexing, not the rotor? Are your axles snug? Maybe the caliper isn't aligned well with the rotor? Or the caliper or pads are loose? What about the rotor, is it correctly fitted? Even the headset could be the issue, though probably more specific to the front brake. There's a few options to rule out before deciding the rotor is deforming through corners. Also ...brake less.

If the axle isn't tight enough the forks will flex and the rotor rub. Tighten it up until the axle yields then back it off half a turn.

I think those rotor bolts have a long memory and are getting their revenge on Hamboz campaign of hate against them in the LTIH thread in his last incarnation on Farkin.

I had noticed the front disk on my Levo SL was rubbing when I tuned and even sometimes when there is a strong cross wind. I only noticed it on tarmac when it's all smooth and quiet. I backed off the rotor bolts, applied the front brake to centre the calliper, and while holding the brake on retightened the calliper bolts and the rubbing went away. There must have been just enough clearance most of the time, but with either the gyroscopic affect flexing the disk or a side wind pushing, it was enough to touch the pads.
