Work to be completed
We did not get the reroute done we planned to last time 25th March so I assume that's still the plan. The new route will be longer to lower the gradient. There are 2 new creek/gully crossing points which will need some rock armouring. I have taken the alignment to where there are areas with lower gradients into the gully to make them sustainable and also where there is underlying rock which should make for technical feature crossings. Not sure we will be able to get all the work done in one go so we may have to create some stockpiles of materials and leave the old section of trail open. I guess it will depend on how many turn up.
Why work is necessary
The reroute is to go around a couple of sections of 'fall line' trail that is rutting out and to avoid a degraded Ck Crossing.
Trail Care Walkthrough/Preview
The alignment has been flagged for nearly month now. You have another week to take another look. Some one has nicked a couple of pin flags but it's still easy to see.
