Trance pedal strike

Got a mate currently test riding a 2014 trance, and wondering why he is striking his pedals more than on his old shitty hardtail.
What do I tell him? I haven't spent much time on a trance to know if they have a particularly low bb, or if it's just sus tuning or something else.
Anyone have experience with this and can offer insight?

It’s likely got longer wheelbase, and as mentioned, too much sag/undersprung.

This. I had a 2014 trance for 3 years and could count the times I had pedal strikes on one hand. Its not super low.

I am running my trance with a bit more sag at the moment and clobber the fuck out of my cranks when climbing tech. Not such a problem with less sag or in trail mode.

Had that problem on another bike surprisingly better w shorter cranks .

I test rode a trance and was put off by the low BB and pedal strikes. Tell him to try another bike before he buys one for a comparison. I have heard some Trance owners say you get use to it.

It's a second hand bike for a good fee. He's only a casual rider so I'll just be happy if he gets anything tbh.

As an aside, I rode a stumpy from vertigo @derby late last year and found that thing so low it completely changed my own riding style..
