upgrade 2x10, what chainset fits reign 2

Hey, I've got a 2011 reign 2 & want to change over to a 2x10 to fix the chain issues on those downhill episodes. I'm looking at two the SLX & a raceface version but cant find info on if they will fit or not. the reign 2 has the Shimano BB71, press fit. But does this make any difference to the crank/chainset..? Are they all universal..?

I'll also upgrade to the X9 10speed medium rear derailleur & 2x10 X9 shifters, the front derailleur is a 3, but i read this should be okay with a tweak.

Any help, comments or shifty remarks here would be awesome, Thanks..!

You don't need new cranks to convert to 2 x 10.
replace your big ring with a bash ring, get a more flexible sized middle ring like 36 or 38t, buy new chain, cassette, rear mech and shifter. use the limit screw to lock the front mech out of where the big ring was. much cheaper. probably wont help chain dropping issues at all tho.

ignore this if I missed the point of what you are trying to achieve :)

I did think that after I posted last night, tho thought a bash guard might help stop the chain coming off when its on the big ring, cheers..

The press fit BB makes no difference to cranks, they interchange. I have a 2011 Reign 0 with 9 speed at the moment. I like the idea of the bash guard but I'm also running a home made chain device for the chain retention. It is much better! I'd go with some of Will's suggestion, get a 36 or 38T big ring and a bash guard. If all you're worried about is chain retention, 2x10 won't help.
