Nothing wrong with the model brakes you're running. Have used them, and they do a great job. I'd cook pads, clean rotors and do a bleed before doing anything else. That said, XT's and bigger rotors will be an outstanding ungraded for a bargain price if you have no love.

He chucks them in with his meat and potatoes, provides a better feel.

Heat them up in a BBQ or with a butane torch if you have one - it burns off any oils that have gotten onto the pads, the alternate is a spray can of brake clean

I bought some new pads today so will see how the brakes feel tomorrow
