The Finale to the awesome 2012 Victorian Enduro Series will be held by Big Hill Events at Buxton MTB Park on Sunday 11th of November

Although being held on the Sunday the park will be open to riders on Saturday afternoon and Big Hill Events are encouraging riders to come and pre-ride the course. Camping is available and we'll be showing a film in the evening and more than likely ordering some Buxton Burgers for dinner.

The course itself is a 10k intermediate circuit of 100% singletrack which is bermed to an extent and as a result makes for a fun, fast flowing ride.

The crew filmed a promo video for the Buxton MTB Park back in July and can be seen here

Categories are as follows:
3 Hour Solo - Men and Women
6 Hour Solo - Men, Women and Men 40+
6 Hour Pairs - Men, Women and Mixed
6 Hour Triples - Men, Mixed and School Juniors

For more info check out the website
Entries through Entry Zone

Please note that the Buxton MTB Park is open all year round and only a short distance from Melbourne - check it out!

Any other questions, feel free to shoot them up here.

Roughly where will the parking be and where is the proposed starting point?

Thanks.
The event village, including parking will be in the old school grounds just to the south of the MTB Park; as Dyes Lane turns into Mill Creek Road.

What are the details of camping?
We're going to put out a media release shortly with regards to camping and Saturday activities. In short, we're thinking of sticking on a few films on a projector - camp fire - buxton burger delivery.

Will post up when we have more details ...

Right so less than 2 week away now and everything is coming together nicely!

News:
The Murrindindi Cycle Club have been out on the course putting the track together: they had a crew of 17 (with kids!) and had a BBQ in the sun at the weekend - for more photos check out their facebook page

Camping:
Camping is available on the Saturday night: we're planning on having some race crits Saturday afternoon - some come down and register for Sunday's event and take part in some fun time trials from 2pm onwards. Otherwise come down and camp the night anyway - we've got the famous Buxton Burger Igloo house round the corner and we'll be showing a film (possibly "Strength in Numbers" and a few others - suggestions?) on a projector once it gets dark.

The guys over at Enduro Mag have done a little write up on the event check it out here

Any queries then send them my way.
Otherwise get your entries in - www.entryzone.com.au/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=75

Track is tip top at the moment, heaps of grip, not too hot and so lush and green. The new transition sections need some wheels over it to bed it in so get out there :bounce:

Entries close when?
Trying to talk a few others into entering this.
Yes entries will be closing Wednesday evening - so make sure you get your entry in before then.

Trying to persuade others to get involved, what do they need to know:

- 3 or 6 hour enduro, ride as part of a team or solo
- Event village will be buzzing with people, teams and good weather (hopefully)
- Grade A track - check out the Buxton MTB Trails facebook page for photos of all the work that has been done
- Singletrack is spot on for ALL abilities, free flowing and happy smiles :D
- Promo video for the track made in winter (see how good it is in winter, imagine it now!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpEMWfUzXrs&feature=player_embedded
- Weekend events - some time trial races on the Saturday afternoon (from about 4pm)
- Saturday evening - film on projector; "Strength in Numbers" and any other suggestions?
- Igloo House Buxton Burger - award winning burger stop round the corner (have said we can put an order in for delivery!)
- Big Man Rich Grant on the mic all day (is that a pro?)
- Raising money for Challenge Charity - which helps out kids with cancer.
- It's the FINALE of the Victorian Enduro Series; Series prizes will be given out
- ******And new event for the Saturday evening - The Huffy Toss in the dark *****- no idea what that is? Check this out - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFn3ndv71qc

Any questions, as per normal send them my way!

A big heads up to those who are heading up to Buxton on the morning of the race. The date coincides with the Marysville Marathon Festival, in Marysville. So with only one real way from Melbourne to Buxton, via Healesville, the road I suspect is going to be a little more congested with traffic and a bit more time would be a smart move as to not get held up.

So we met up with DSE on site on Friday to work out final plans for the event village and the course. Firstly, the course is looking tip top - DSE and the Murrinidindi Cycle Club have done a fantastic job working on this trail. DSE is also commiting 3 days next week to clear more area for the event village and finishing touches to the trail linking the course to the event village.

This trail is serious fun, and has so many awesome parts to it - it really is perfect for ANY rider. All free flowing singletrack. We would of loved to have mapped the whole MTB park into the enduro, but that just wasn't possible.

We have used both Garmin and Strava to map out the full Enduro course (Sunday 11th), the Time Trial (Saturday 10th) and the Eliminator (Saturday 10th).

love it.

rode the track today for the first time, loved it.
the planks in and out of transition/ timing will be interesting, and was wondering about that step down into that gully on track 2 i think , will there be pallets put down or something? cause you can carry some sweet speed into that and with traffic it could get a bit hairy.
off camber and the fern gully part are so much fun going to be making the journey out there more often i think.
cheers Todd

Awesome - sounds like a lot of people are getting down there to check the track out.

Note: DSE are working on the track (especially the planks in and out of transition) today, tomorrow and Friday so rest assured that'll be fine. Interesting note about the step down in the gully on track 2 - will have a check of it when marking the course on Friday and make a judgement - cheers for the heads up though.

Hi Todd, thanks for the review mate, can I ask, whats the track like , is it design for a dually or a hard tail and what tyres would you recommend mate? also, how long would it take to complete a lap?

Cheers
