Ahhh the Hornsby OG. Will have to get back there some time soon and get my pork and pedal on.

It was a good day for pork, but very sweaty for pedalling.

That looks rather good. Is that a giant piece of Spring onion in there. Not sure any bah mi I have tried has had onion in it.

Indeed! A scallions, a green onion, a burst of fresh deliciousness...it worked well, but I think it was mixed in woth the corroandwr and just grabbed in a rush to make my order. Such a great sandwich. I don't mind cheese on threre either.

Oddly there is a Vietnamese joint in Garema place in Canberra’s “city” that does a remarkably excellent one. Sadly the one in Hobart is sub par…

Whaaat ! $11

Cha Phu Xuong on Hanson road was $5.50 for the best ever, you could do doubles for cheaper than a 12" Subway.

A little Mon morning excitement. Watched a (small) brown snake go from the family room into the kitchen and luckily behind the fridge and freezer rather than the walk in pantry. Grabbed a broom and moved the appliances one handed while watching many places. Finally coaxed it out into the open but not before it had a dozen shots at the broom. Anyway it is illegal to kill them so it was escorted outside. Into the mouth of a very happy butcherbird.

Apparently many breeds of snake are suckers for sweetened condensed milk, making a partially opened can with the lid pushed ever so slightly in a great way to trap them. Apparently the snake pushes their head into the can under the "flap" to enjoy the condensed milk lining the can, but can't get their head back out on account of the "flap" trapping them. Apparently a snake in such a predicament is easy to handle and relocate with a very cautious removal of the can.

While you are waiting for the snake to give in to deliciousness you can enjoy yourself a cup or three of refreshing Vietnamese coffee. There's no point wasting all that sweetened condensed milk!
