Join Farkin?

ill start: i joined to find a new pair of forks as i bent my rst's which were on my first serious mtb. since then ive made millions of purchases and sales of here and think its a great site

Massive thanks to all the Mods and Admins for keeping the site going

so why did you join:)
 
I joined when i got into mtb riding not too long ago.. i joined to meet other riders just starting off in the sydney area... i havent really come across many.. but its an awesome site.. alot of the off topic discussions can be really interesting to read.. and in general, its a good site.. a grt way to hear other ppls opinions.
 
I can't really remember, it was ages ago. I think I was working part time in a bike shop and someone mentioned it, there were only a couple of hundred members then.
 
I did it because I'm a conformist and all my friends who were MTBers were always raving about this site, so i just HAD to find out what all the fuss was about....i now am a senior member, whilst many of them are still futile MEMBERS...

not that theres anything wrong with that

hilarious.... thanks for that, I don't Farkinate as much as I used to, and almost missed it.

I joined way back in 2003... phpBB forum code (that did some odd things on occasion), no advertising, a higher rate of newbies with a grasp of English :p

probably mostly because of the Watering Hole, and the opportunity to sit around and discuss things/kill time with other riders.

I joined the site when I was in search of a hardtail, then I started reading threads, and became addicted. :p
 
It was years ago. I was totally new to the whole interernet, webbie thingo and thought Farkin was a chat room to pick up young boys. I also thought the user name Grip would be a good one to get across exactly what I was offering and wanting.

When I discovered it was a mountain bike site, well Fark me, you could have knocked me over with a pair of frilly knickers, but what was I to do then? No choice but to cover my tracks by starting a MTB business around my Farkin user name and hope no one ever noticed.

I think I may have got away with it. The truth is I hate bikes.
 
Why did i join? Messing around in computers in school one day when a mate told me about a funny video on farkin (didnt even know that it existed until this stage). only way i could see it was by joining. so I did:D

ps. first time I tried to get here I typed in farkin.COM which is incidentally a porn site (not good with a computers teacher staring over your shoulder).
 
Someone mentioned it to me in late 03'. From then on i scanned the forums and it became an everyday occurance after school. Then I decided to join..I think I was scared at first to post!

I joined farkin, just because. Found a link to the site one day off "mtb dirt"...started looking around here, and realised it was a better site. Got myself a membership and i was set.

well i came across this great website whilst on my quest for the fabulous porn site www.farkin. COM....

seriously now,
i joined farkin cause my mate mentioned to me one day while we were out doing runs at cootha

and some of the off topic discussions are a great read and are hillarious

I found my way here after reading a magazine- AMB I believe it was... Truth be told I had already been riding years, but new to the net at home- I though what not; an Aussie forum would be cool.. And well it is and I believe Frakin.net is the biggest!
 
A crazy canuck that goes by the name of Techno Destructo came into the shop one day and said "KALE, BUDDY ... DUDE you sooo gotta check out this site man, It's wicked!!!1!one!!"

And i've been here ever since :confused:
 
I joined because I heard my cousins talking about it and wanted to buy some good 2nd hand stuff.
