Will Avid Elixir work with G3 rotors?

Hey there,

I'm swaping my Avid Juicy 3s to 2012 Elixir 5 RSL.
Will they work with the older G3 cleansweep rotors that I already have, or will I need the HS1 rotors?
From what I can gather they should be fine, but the thickness may be an issue?

And if they will work with the G3s, would it be worthwhile upgrading to the HS1s?

Cheers

For some of us rotor thickness is always a concern...too thick? Too thin? Will it fit nicely into that fluid filled calliper? And oh that terrible noise when it doesnt run smoothly!

The rotors should be sweet. I have ran most major brand of brake with most other major brand and a few minor brands of rotor without issue. So unless your rotors are in rough condition i suggest sticking with them. But make sure there's no warping or bending or rust etc and save some pennies.

That said your G3 are fairly old and you can likely save yourself a few grams in modern design and definately gain improved heat dispersion. This could lead to you improving your ride time by about 3 seconds per kilometer! Definately worth considering.
