XT long cage on a road bike?

T-Rex Junior destroyed the Ultegra derailleur on his roadie this morning, and wants to ride again tomorrow morning. I've got a XT long cage sitting here, any idea if the actuation ratio is the same? Any other issues? Both are 10sp.

Won't work. Although a 9sp XT rear derailleur would.

Actually, don't worry about elaborating, tried it, doesn't work. Looks like a way different actuation ratio. Short cage SRAM also doesn't work.

9 speed and earlier works (because actuation ratio the same between mtb an road). 10 speed all bets are off (diff ratios). Thankyou Shimano.

9 speed XT works perfectly had it 5 years.
But if course Shimano as usual had to complicate things when 10 speed came along in order to sell more parts !!

Had a good look around don't have any 9 sp Shimano...... Too late anyway, Junior has now pilfered the derailleur off my roadie...... Which was exactly what I was trying to avoid.
