I've discovered what they really really really hate is an "oh ok, I guess I misunderstood that. No drama, lets see what we can do from here then" when all they really want to do is make it clear they are outraged over my not adequately meeting their procedural requirements and not throwing myself at their feet in mercy. Shame on me for trying it on with that "common sense" madness!!

Sorry guys, my tolerance for manufactured angst over trivial stuff is non existent these days.
 
A quick look through myanual for dealing with petty egotists at work suggests really giving it to them just the way they want it...in volumes that they don't expect. Just start deferring heaps and heaps of shit to them. Try "cc" them into email with shit like "I'm not overly familiar with that area of specialist knowledge, but blah blah blah is and they recently helped me out in a very professional manner...." and palm. Over and over and over. Drop by their desk with paper work and ask for a briefing on it. Ask them if they can me tor you for a few months as well because it will be good to have in your pda...they'll hate you pretty quickly.

It's as news as we get 450km from a capital city. They even canned the local WIN TV news a couple years ago. Nothing but metro news now, and as far as we can tell from that Victoria only goes as far north as Bendigo......

Did I mention lawyers...? Feck me what sad little human that one is. 50 words where 5 will do, and all aimed at her authorata and my contrition.

Oh well, whatever. I'm leaving the country for a month and I ultimately don't give a toss about sad little pencil pushers. It put a nasty vibe on the morning though :(
