What's your go to recovery drink/food after a ride?

I get enough protein in my diet so I'm not looking at protein powder based stuff.

I read about beetroot juice being excellent for recovering muscles, anyone tried that?

Yes Choccy Milk is a great recovery drink. Just dont be smashing it everyday without exercise :)

Beetroot juice is an awesome daily health drink (pre exercise) that 'may' increase workout stamina and many other health benefits, I used to drink it every day several years ago, makes yer piss an interesting colour... described as pissing rainbows.
 
Anyone making their own electrolyte/hydralyte drinks?

I've got a shit-tonne of lemons, honey and salt so was thinking about giving it a crack.
 
A weak lemon drink is the ticket then!
