You, sir, are bloody excellent at taking photographs. A lot of kudos.

Jesus. Been a while since i've visited this place! From humble (or not so humble) beginnings back in about 2007, this thread combined with a couple other things is really what kicked off photography for me. Got a bunch of you on Facebook so this seems a little redundant, but if anyone wants...

    Mediocre at best. Please re-shoot.

I second this. Either Eneloop rechargeables or Powerex rechargeables. Eneloops are 1900mAh and Powerex's are 2500mAh, meaning you'll get more pops out of the Powerex batteries before the go flat. Recycle times between flashes for both are pretty similar. There have, however, been tests done...

    Another eBay cash grab...

I've sold a few bikes and bought a bunch of stuff through Gumtree and the most i've paid is a $3 urgent listing fee. Doesn't bother me in the slightest that they're owned by eBay, it's a much more cost-effective system.

Near Miss this morning - An observation of perception and bias

A mate had an on-the-mobile-phone-female-green-P-plater pull a right hand turn in front of him while he was doing 50k's an hour down a hill last week. He was in plain sight. Luckily he was able to swerve in front of her (braking would've sent him into the side of the car) and hop the gutter onto...

    The watch thread.

So I held off on the Nixon (for the moment) after reading the line about quartz versus mechanical. And now i've fallen in love with something very different…THIS. Something super nice about skeletons. Not sure if I would/could wear it as a daily, but still..very tempting.

    The watch thread.

About to go fork out the cash (albeit not a huge amount) for one of these: http://www.nixon.com/au/en/mens/watches/the-player-A140.html?sku=A1401062-00 Been looking at them for the last 10 years and since then have never found a watch that appeals to me in such a minimalistic and stylish way...

    The watch thread.

Got a raging hard on for Audemars Piguet at the moment. Base model watches start at $16k, many in the $250k+ range. Serious wristporn. Edit: Such as…

Both photos are nice, in the way a brand new Toyota Camry is 'nice'. They're well exposed, good colours and contrast, are sharp and there's lots of detail in them, but they're just…standard? I don't quite know what i'm looking for in either of them and nothing really draws me in. Does that make...

    Post your Roadie

Apologies for the shithouse picture. This is my 2014 Trek Madone 7 Project One. Ultegra 6800, Bontrager RXL tubeless wheels, Garmin Vector pedals. It's a weapon.

Nice dude! Awesome shots. The 500c is basically the same as the CM, so you're not missing out on too much. Get your hands on some Velvia 50 slide film for landscape shots - from everything i've read it's absolutely radical.

    The Photo Snob Thread

I've sent everything I shot on holidays (eight rolls of 120 and four of 35mm) off to Raw Digital and Film Lab in Sydney, literally round the corner from Vision Image. Heard very good things about their scanning - Oli Sansom, Jonas P and Tim Coulson have all said good things, so if all goes to...
