KOB round 3 results & overall standings for 2014
Well, what a race & what a season...
Ballarat certainly turned it on for KOB round 3, it was a perfect day & the racing was close & exciting,
well & truely the most vocal of the 3 rounds with the root section heckle fest being heard clearly
at the bottom of the hill alerting all to a spectacular dismount or a near miss.
The round 3 track was by far the best race track on the hill at present, the work & new lines which Coota
& the crew have been working on over the last few months have really payed off, transforming the track's
flow allowing for all levels of rider, easy enough to get down for the novice & challenging for the elite
riders aiming for the fastest times of the day.
This season has been a mixed bag both with weather & riding conditions & the results of each race,
it's also great to see so many new faces & talents entering the sport, this can only mean good things
for the future of Downhill MTB in the future. It also inspires us as a club to keep going & improving
the KOB series & the Black Hill area.
2015 will be a big year for Club MUD with the development of the Hill by the City of Ballarat as yet we
are still a little unsure of exactly what is going to happen with regards to our tracks & also access
to the top area of the hill as it gets transformed... Regardless, you can bet that Club MUD will fight
to make sure that the tracks are not modified too much & that we retain as much natural terrain as is
possible.
We are planning to run KOB 2015 as per normal & will advise via the Facebook page any news.
We may also need to count on you the rider/user of Black Hill to voice your opinion in the near future
regarding the tracks & trails should council's plans vary from what we deem is over development of the
current tracks.
Stay Tuned, Stay safe & have fun on your bike/s...
Keep it real!
Club MUD
See you all in 2015!
