The Tranz Prov is a much tougher, as is the TranzBC. I know I’m not made for such things.
I agree, but I'll be fkd if I didn't try to get into the TP anyway! Would have been epic of epics.

Haven't done the event but would be keen to in a couple of years.

Found this podcast on the Trans-Provence very interesting in respect to training and prep. Especially the need to do some hike a biking and the importance of rest and recovery in training. http://www.downtimepodcast.com/trans-provence-special-part-one/

Thankfully no bike carrying required in the TransNZ, but deffo some bike pushing.

Geez, would it trouble you to compliment the foreground.

Little white lies don't hurt no-one.

Been looking at that for ideas on training. would be interested on your thought when you receive it.
I've had a few goes at this program, but haven't got past 5 weeks for various reasons.

Even in that time I noticed a huge difference on the trails with my fitness.

I'd certainly give it a crack!

One of these days I'll get through the 12 weeks. I've got a trip to Maydena coming up in February, so I'm going to try to get it done before then.

That trail you can see running for miles down the crest? That’s about 1/2 of this stage before it turns right down into missing link then into ‘Beached as’. Around 10 minutes...which isn’t the longest the stage of the week.
Way down there is Queenstown, and the pines are Skyline MTB park. You climb the park for stage 1, race down. Only lift of the week gets you back up top of Skyline, but you then ride/push/carry bike another 600m of elevation for this stage. Well worth it. We went back the next day and rode up both Skyline and even higher I Ben Lomond just for the experience again.
