So many things wrong with this...hardtail is just one of them...Giant's current XTC series are convertible, *and* also SS-compatible.

For my local downhill runs it wouldn't be any doubt in my mind I would go the 2.6". Before i buy a second wheel set I'd be keen to try my wheels with beefier tyres, think DHF 2.5 and DHR II 2.4.Oh I wasn't thinking they meant plus tyres.
