If you make something too easy to navigate then the user finds the product fast but means spends less time eyeballing the pages, you provide a product for the user and you want them to spend more time on the site. So I guess you dont want to make things to streamlined, like putting things near the self checkouts in a supermarket, you have provided the stock and you want to sell it.
Yep...decision fatigue. Look at how they set out retail malls, designed to overwhelm you and weaken your ability to make accurate informed decisions.
I looked at a bunch of those fucking shoes trying to find out what the ones I liked were made of...that sort of info was burried way down the downward scroll. Then they still didn't have a definitive answer.
