At least you didn’t put both your tires on backwards! ooooor did you?? You better go check….
Well you half jinxed me, was giving the commuter a going over tonight and thought I’ll just change the rear tyre, I know it’ll be a pain as the Maxxis 120tpi tyres seem to be a right pain to get to seat. Anyway I fired up the compressor, switched out the tyre then started to get to seat, I give it a glance yeah it’s on the right way, frig around getting it seat, eventually I had to try and partially seat by hand and then hit with the compressor, success. Go to put it back on the bike, that’s when I noticed it, fark!!! Pull the tyre off switch it around the right way, wrestle it to seat on again and now it’s ready for commuting again hopefully this Monday.

Went riding today - prefix this with I'm a bit drained atm but even that was no excuse for the shitshow on offer. Crashed badly once and should've several more times except my bike bailed me out of a succession of exceptionally bad choices so yay bikes I guess?

Might be time for some coaching.

Long weekend - staying at a Ski Lodge at Mt Buller, shuttles booked one day and a couple of rides organised, had a bag of shoes ready to pack in the car..... Left the bag at home so all I had was a pair of thongs.

Luckily the bike shop at the Buller Village had some shoes for me with only about 25% mountain tax

Done that with helmets once upon a time. Wife was not impressed.

Here again to say hi..... Last race of the summer series last night - checked all the kids bikes did the normal 101 jobs that needed doing on their bike. At the end did the thumb test on my bike, rear tyre a bit soft. Nar she'll be right. Lap two, rocky decent, flat tyre, hole on the tyre bead so couldn't plug. The biggest part of this is that I've done this several times, each time having the exact same outcome, even to the position of the hole. The tyre was at the end of it's life so instead of trying to patch the bead it's new tyre day for me, but FFS Dougal if the tyre looks a bit flat pump it up you bloody numpty, you are too fat and the trails are too rocky to do that.....

Two in a row..... Anyway not bike related but motorbike is close? - yesterday taking the packing material out of the MX silencer / muffler, clamped the fiberglass sheets in the vice and pulled the muffler upwards, turns out towards my face (It had been a while since this had been replaced). I didn't tighten the vice enough and proceeded to smash my face with the motorbike muffler, very sore nose and a nice little cut just above my lip / bottom of the nose. Re-tighten the vice and it came out no issues

I was having a pedal through the swamp here and came across the realisation I hadn't had breakfast or lunch. I (in an unusual move) had been distracted some of the morning by house work. Anyway there is a hungry jacks near the swamp so I swing in for a bit of food. Well who the fuck is paying $15 for one of their hamburgers? A quick bit of googling and Ronald is pulling the same sort of shit. What the fuck?

Oh and I purchased 2 of their $2.whatever shitburgers and they seemed to match the price to quality fairly well. Testicles and snouts aren't so bad.

Solved this problem. Just sent a parcel from my local post office, which is a few doors down from my local take away (family owned). $10 (cash only) for a fucking great works burger. Up yours to this expensive burger trend!

What the fuck indeed. Try taking a family of 5 there. Then that's combined with the level of service from Ronald's crew, and the lack of haste from Jack's associates.

It's neither fast nor food any more.

Hardly a family friendly restaurant experience anymore. There was an assortment of value meal packages offered in large signage on the walls today. I think I could have eaten all of the items from any of them in one sitting quite easily, but the calorie intake would have been off the chart.

I found using the app actually helps here - first time using it earlier in the week - and there are frequently discounts in there if you use and pay for your order through it. I got 20% off the other day, saved me $10

That's what Mrs George and I think they're driving at. Mrs George is lactose intolerant so we go in to make sure what she gets is lac free (still not a guarantee) and the lack of service at the counter is appalling. And the two Maccas we have here have been renovated so you can no longer see what the fuck they are actually doing. We get the impression they are actively trying to keep customers out.

Theres one on the way to Brisbane just after Sydney that is like that, no tills, and we travel during the week so get the grey nomad crowd. They love to complain and try to find staff instead of using the screen, but its a fair point to be able to talk to someone these days.

Yup, family of 5 and for another $40 -50 can have a decent pub feed. KFC is my weakness but damn some of the meals are nudging $17.

Maccas opened at the end of our street. Son had his end of basketball party there. Barely any seats but kitchen is huge and looks to be focused on drive though. Food was gross.

My nearest Macca's is a hundred and something kilometres away...and that's still too close.
