Dharco kit used to be so pimp.
Testing the new spring but the cassette had other ideas. Check the outer metal plate is not loose. If my memory is working I recall @ozzybmx had his come loose.Axle bolt loosened (or I left it loosened) pedal up the hill, hear crackety crack and I had to go walkies back to the car View attachment 399741 home. I cannot tell you you how uncomfortable a cassette jammed down the back of your shorts it!But, but....how did you even get that far with no cassette.
This one, outer axle plate, outer hanger thingy, doo-flicky plate?Which plate are we talking about?
Ah right. I’ll check that. I’m surprised the axle backed out. I don’t remember undoing it lately but I guess I must have.
Maybe the reason for your gear issues on Thursday?Ah right. I’ll check that. I’m surprised the axle backed out. I don’t remember undoing it lately but I guess I must have.
I think you may well be right! I just cleaned up the hub and I dodged a bullet. What looked liked metal chunks is just grease and grit. Couple of little scratches from the broken pieces doing a few revolutions but all sound as far as I can tell. So will only need a set of pawls and springs.Maybe the reason for your gear issues on Thursday?
Drill and just throw a split pin in.Working on an old giant reign from the bike collective. It's been outside a while and everything is rusty including the brake pad backing plates so need to replace brake pads.
Go to remove the pad retaining pin and the head snaps off. No worries, grab the pliers and turn the other end of the pin where the circlip attaches aaaaand that snaps off.
Ok getting a little tricky now but needle nose pliers in between the calliper and turn and turn the bolt aaaaand it breaks.
Guess I'm drilling it out now
Is the plan. But I'm pedantic when it comes to this stuff and now see it is a personal challenge to retain the threads which will be near impossible. Ironic given how ham fisted I was in trying to remove the boltDrill and just throw a split pin in.
