G'day guys. I'm in the middle of doing a restoration of an old Garry fisher frame and I have just discovered the brake adaptors I was going to use won't fit on the frame. Can anybody with knowledge of old model bikes please help !!.

Brake mounting (frame) = 44mm hole spacing
Brake mount (brakes) = std 74mm
Rotors = 160mm

Picture attached... What adaptor do I need?.

Thank you

You sure it's brake mounts? One threaded, one not.... Why would any be threaded? Oooor, it's just like something I've never seen....:noidea:

Looks like very weird spacing then, with the back one way out there behind dropout.... Or maybe I'm just looking at it cock eyed.

A2Z used to make adaptors , but I think they are gone now.Very early brakes had a narrower spacing. May be a custom job unfortunately.

Sanity is not statistical
The frame is pre disc brakes, however A2Z make a product called the DM-UNI to add 51mm I.S mounts to a non disc mount frame with vertical dropouts and 135mm spacing

Function/Features:
- Retrofits ?tab-less? bikes with current disc brake systems
- No need to buy a new bike!
- No need to have special disc hub - fits most brands on the market
- Very easy to install - in just a few seconds
- Easy to put on/off your rear wheel as usual. No extra adjustments needed
- 100% CNC machined
- Recommended for aluminum alloy frame

Contact a trek dealer. There is a adapter that uses 3 bolts to hold a frame adapter hence the threaded hole that then bolts a a-std to it. Was used on a lot of 2003 to 2006 trek bikes with this adapter setup. Was hard to get hold of 1 in tose days so good luck.

Ask a Trek dealer to get you one, they still use the bolt on IS mount on the 3 series Trek bikes.
The Trek bolt on brake mount was also used on Gary Fisher & Klein bikes in the past.
With the Trek mount you'll need a IS to PM adapter if you're using PM brake calipers.

Sellution Components sell the bolt on IS & PM mounts on ebay.
