Disc brakes on road bike?

carbon/carbon or carbon/ceramic brakes or GTFO. Even those heavy automobile things have those. That steel disc and alloy caliber must weigh a ton!
Note: my Super Six EVO hi mod ( same frame as in above post) weighs 7.3 kgs! How'd he shave 2 kgs off?

I'm confused.
It doesn't cover the disk or even the brake caliper. I assume there's a similar bag but just without the notch for non-disk forks.
