In the compo film with the crash of the two funny cars, the guy who got T boned basically walked away pretty much unscathed. They reckon he was lucky that he got hit, otherwise he would have gone straight into the wall at high speed and been really badly injured.
The bloke who came off worst was the guy who drove straight through him. The impact was enough to leave him in hospital for 2 weeks with a bruised heart from the sudden decelleration! Imagine hitting anything so hard that your heart gets slammed into your ribcage hard enough to bruise it!
They both survived.
And pretty much all the wreckage made it to the end of the 1/4 mile too! (Not sure on the ET though)
