I have had my Intense SlopeStyle2 for about 6 months now and love this awesomely capable and versatile bike.

Here's the current specs:
  • Intense SlopeStyle2 - Small, 6 or 6.5 inches travel.
  • Fox Van 36 fork.
  • Fox Van RC rear shock with Titanium spring.
  • Mavic Crossmax SX wheelset.
  • Maxxis Minion DHR 2.5 EXO tyres run tubeless.
  • XT cranks.
  • DMR V12 Mag pedals.
  • Truvativ X0 chainguide.
  • Deity Dirty Thirty bars 760mm.
  • FSA heaset and spacers.
  • FoRide stem.
  • Intense Odi grips.
  • SDG Formula FX I-Beam seat and SDG seatpost.
  • Black seatclamp.
  • XT brakes.
  • IceTech 180mm rotors.
  • XT 10 spd shifter and derailleur.

Here's some pics.

Love the colour combo Lyle.

What are the geometry spec's of the frame? That seat tube looks hughly slack!

So, my next project is to bling it up a bit with some Gold bits:
  • I already have Gold Odi lockrings (courtesy of Mr.Intense himself Chris Kovarik).
  • I am about to order a Gold KMC chain.
  • Going to add some Gold steerer spacers (courtesy of Chopsticks).
  • Going to add a Gold seat clamp (courtesy of Ev).
  • Add some Gold rotors, like Hope ones.
  • Gold pedals maybe. Only maybe cause I've only had my DMR mag's for less than a year.

Other changes not Gold coloured:
  • Want to ditch the XT gears for SRAM X0 10 spd.
  • Want to get some Saint 4-pot brakes. I had them on my last DH bike and miss their bite. I feel like I'm having to reef on the XT's before they really grab properly.

So:
  • Anyone want a XT 10-spd shifter and derailleur? - works perfectly less than a year old.
  • Anyone want some XT brakes? - work perfectly less than a year old.

I built one of these for my now ex girlfriend. When I broke up with her, she actually took it. I think it may of just been to piss me off.

It did.

It still does.

Really good build there. I've had a large in raw for about two years now, and did the swap from 1X10 to XX1. There's no allowance for a front derailleur on the SS2 so it looks really good compared to frames with cutouts and asymmetry like the Mach6 when not using one. No sram cranks I own will fit, the frame needs cranks with something like a 178 q-factor to fit, which has ruled out the XTRs I have too. Mine came with the fox rc, and I got a cane creek coil shock for it, but the tune on the fox really suits the frame, so the cane creek made no real difference. Ended up using the cane creek on another frame to replace an RP23 where the change was as obvious as night and day. I'm using XT cranks, DMR pedals too. Full 1.5 lyric fork and thomson stem on mine because everyone was going tapered and I got the pair from CRC for bugger all. It's such a nice mini-DH/trail frame, dirt 100 favourite for two years, then just given a bullet by Intense unfortunately.

Tall pinko socialists need not apply.

Very nice bike all the same, SC, but my gold hoops on arch would set it off:thumb:

Can't find the geometry now Grant - I'll have to check it out.

Seat tube is slack, I had to take the Intense seatpost off because it was a layback and made pedalling terrible.

OK I've come up kinda empty.

Saint brakes are not available anywhere as a pair. At least not M820 ones.

And SRAM - couple of questions please:

  • I have found a good price for SRAM XX 10spd derailleur - they do work with X0 10spd shifter don't they? (does say so on website but just checking).
  • With shifter it will come with cable and clamp won't it?
  • And will I have to buy a cable outer?
  • And does EXACT ACTUATION as listed for the XX rear derailleur mean the same as Type2 Clutched for the X0?

Xx does work with x0
Clamp, should do, cable, possible but not likely
Use your existing outers if they are still good.
Exact actuation means 1:1 ratio, all SRAM 10s run this. Doesn't mean the same as type 2. Xx won't be clutched...

Ah yes I see what you mean with Exact Actuation then.

Does that mean X0 would be better for my AM/DH use? (as long as it is type2 clutched)

And I have to admit I am confused by the clutched terminology - does it basically just mean there is added tension in the derailleur that means less chain slap? (Yes I just googled it)

Clutched is better for dh/am use, but if you are running a guide up front, a single ring and short cage rear mech should be fine.
So xx and x0 are the same, but the type 2 will be better than not.
Chain slap is not the only reason, the added tension is how you get away with out a guide up front.

You can get front saints from CRC and then rear from Evans.
I've missed the boat - can't now. Currently I'll just hang off. Its more a want than a need so I'll cope with the XT's for a while.

Due to the 10spd with a 36tooth on the back, it has to be a mid cage rear derailleur.

And guess what? I took my wheel off last week and the reason for shit shifting is the derailleur allen bolt was very loose, so hopefully won't have to bother with changing gears at all. Sorry about that Moorey.

Just a side note on this. I'm running 11-36 with a 34t on the front and run an X0 short age with no hassles at all.
