soft-arse Yuley is on the lifts again
This has been quite a journey… and it’s not quite over yet.
I’ll keep this brief and give more of the story later but essentially, my much loved Transition Sentinel V1 was stolen a few months back. Insurance was difficult to deal with to say the least. All I wanted was my bike back and a close second would be a new Sentinel but there were none in the country and a likely wait till November. Rodney from Supersport was great in firstly helping me try and find my stolen bike then in communicating about the wait time for a new Tranny.
@moorey was a champ and lent me a Spitfire but I got toey for a bigger bike and bought a Nukeproff Mega 290 to tide me over. The Nukeproof is an awesome bike as it turns out. So good that I got all cocky and figured i could be a little adventurous with my insurance payout and try something a little left of centre (knowing i can fall back on the Mega if I need to).
So here is my left-of-centre… A Kavenz that accidentally turned out to be somewhat of a European build.

Rear derailleur - Shimano SLX
Rear shifter - Shimano SLX

Front wheel - Hope Pro 4, DT Swiss XM481, DT comp spokes and brass nipples
Rear wheel - Hope Pro 4, DT Swiss EX511, DT comp spokes and brass nipples

You may note the wheels rotors and tyres (and pedals) aren’t the same in the photo as the spec listed. I’m still waiting on a few spokes to turn up from Hibike so I can build up my wheels and have stolen the wheels/tyres/rotors off the Mega in the meantime. I’ll update photos when the build is complete.
Gotta say thanks to @frenchman for answering my questions and offering me a closer look at his Kavenz. Like his experience, I found the people at Kavenz great to deal with and even had a few responses from the owner Giacomo when my order was held up.
Haven’t had a chance to ride it yet but will give more details after the weekend! From a spin around the park I can say that the size/geo feels spot on and the suspension is NOISY. If you like a quiet bike - don't order EXT. All the reviews say it but I can confirm their high flow oil approach leads to a LOT of swooshing.
