Yeah but he's fucking stupid, he moved from discovery to astana, even though he knew he wont be able to defend his tour crown this year because astana'a banned. I don't get some people.
He signed with Astana in October '07 and Astana were excluded by Chris P in February '08:rolleyes:

Really? Discovery disbanded and he took a job with another pro tour team, that by being a member of the Pro Tour has paid a huge license fee to be able to attend and compete in le Tour. I don't think any winner of the tour would take a job on a team knowing it had no chance of being invited to any of the grand tours. He could have commanded a very large salary and been in great demand form many Pro Tour teams. He chose to follow the "organisation" which won him the tour from Discovery to the new Astana, which I think most reasonable people would have also done with a ull expectation of being able to ride all Pro Tour events.

I was hoping Astana would get a late invite like what apparently happened in the Giro.

BTW, Team CSC is now known as Team CSC - Saxo bank :)

And because I work for CSC and had the opportunity to speak to the sports directors in Italy recently, I think Sastre is in with a chance this year. But Cadel is going to be hard to beat.

You are shameless. Any chance to rub it in that you went to the Giro d'Italia this year :p

Maillot jaune (Yellow Jersey): Edit: I said Valverde, but then realised it seems he's not racing this years tour. So I'll revise later.
Maillot Vert (Green Jersey): Hunter
Maillot à pois rouges (Polkadot Jersey): Soler
Maillot blanc (White Jersey): Andy Schleck or Lowe. Hard to pick.

Where did you read about Valverde not being in the tour?

Ive had a quick search, but cant find any info... just today cyclingnews posted this item.

"With the win he feels ready to help team-mate Alejandro Valverde vie for the Tour de France. "I prepared very well for the Tour," he remarked in a team press release. "I will to do my best in France to help Alejandro Valverde win the race. Today, I believe that I showed everybody that I am in great condition already." Tour de France favourite, Carlos Sastre (Team CSC), finished 1'46" back."

cadel doco

I think there was a cadel doco at midday on SBS on Sun 29 June 08. Did anyone see it, was it the same one they showed earlier in the year?

Damn right! Had to share :) And I can get to the le tour too, if only I could find a prospective client to be interested in using CSC for their IT stuff.

Any one interested? :p

I didn't watch on Sunday but the programme guide said it was a repeat of the one earlier this year.
